Procedure for adoption of West Michigan Regional Protocols (WMRP)

Each Medical Control Authority interested in adopting the WMRP should send a letter from their EMS Medical Director indicating:

that the MCA is accepting the West Michigan Regional Protocols as approved by the QA Task Force on 7/22/98.

that the MCA will insure that all their providers are trained in the implementation of the new protocols.

A complete set of the WMRP (if all are being adopted) must accompany the letter. (For ease of filing, it will be helpful if the MCA also includes their currently approved protocols, separated from the WMRP)

If they are not adopting the entire package, the letter should identify which of the WMRP are not being adopted.

The previously approved WMRP will not be sent to the QA Task Force. Previously approved MCA protocols will not be sent to the QA Task Force.

Any additional protocols sent by the MCA for review will proceed through the normal approval process to the QA Task Force.
